In This clip there is a good example of shot reverse shot between the two characters where two characters are in conversation and the diagram shows how the cameras would have been set up.
As you can see in the clip the camera switches between Camera A and Camera B as the characters converse the camera is generally placed either next to or OTS of the person they are talking to and facing who is talking and the same but "Reverse" for the other subject hence the name of the technique, it will switch between the two cameras when ever the audience needs to see one person talking or a reaction of one subject. This technique 99% of the time also obeys the 180 degree rule explained in another post.
